Genus: Parides, Hübner, 1819. Species: montezuma. FW Length: 37-42 mm. Geographic Range: Occur from sea level to 700 m on the Pacific slope in dry forest habitats. Host Plant (s): Asclepia curassavica, other Asclepias spp. Unique Characteristics: there are breeding populations in Parque Santa Rosa, and in some years it can be locally common during the early part of the rainy season.
