Geographic Range: Occurs commonly from sea level to 1400 m on both slopes, in a variety of habitat types but commonest in open second growth.
Host Plant (s): Ruellia, Blechum (Acanthaceae).
Unique Characteristics: This species is perhaps one of the most familiar butterflies in all Central America.
