Habitat: Open highlands with scattered trees and thickets

Los avistamientos LPWG: Common or abundant May to September; scarce or absent October to April.

Características especiales: Flares purple feathers behind eye when excited; uses feeders at La Paz Waterfall Gardens after breeding in higher areas.

Marcas: The large bird has a long bill which is moderately decurved.
