World Distribution: West Mexico to Central Costa Rica.
Habitat: Open forests, thickets and gardens.
LPWG Sightings: Very rare incidental visitor, probably strays from the Central Valley.
Field Marks: Often confused with the female Purple-throated Mountain
Gem because of the similar orange bellies.
